PERCHED ON the slopes of Rodborough Common in the Cotswolds, the Winstone family have been making ice cream since 1925 when Albert Winstone founded the company by selling ice cream from a motor cycle and side car. From these humble beginnings Winstones has grown considerably and is now a substantial supplier to a number of national supermarket chains and major retail outlets.

The ice cream was originally made at the house adjoining the Greenacres site and sold direct to the public from a small shop there. The shop still exists and the public gathered to sample the delights of Winstones Ice Cream and admire the panoramic views of the Cotswold hills.

Nine time winners of the Silver Challenge Cup for excellence along with numerous other major awards, Winstones ice cream is recognised as the Cotswold's premier ice cream manufacturers.

Today's high standards have dictated a complete refurbishment of the manufacturing facility thus maintaining the attention to quality and taste that the public have come to expect. The company is now in the hands of the third generation of the Winstone family.
